Default The '65 Dodge is running!

My dad's '65 Dodge has been sitting in the garage for a few years doing nothing. My brother in law and I got all the parts needed, and had a wrenchfest today.

'65 Dodge Polara 383cid 4 barrel, 727 Torqueflite

Before wrenching

The new parts

Everything in!

P.S.: Just took these pics with my digital camera....don't know why a couple are messed up lookin'.

It had major overheating problems, so it kept it from running for more than a half hour. The old radiator worked fine, just couldn't cool the engine, even with an electric fan.

I had almost the same car! it was the same color and the same engine but it was a 4 door and it was an ex Navy vehicle. it had a gash down one side like it hit an Ice berg. I think I paid $30.00 for it and then sold it to a buddy for $75.00

I'm paying for my edumacation through loans!

My dad's first car was the same as that one. He had sold his original, then found that one a few years later, bought it and restored it to look identical to his first car back in 1965.

I've got video of it starting up, but need someone to host it so I can share...or I'll find a website to host files or something.

I still find it funny how Plugs, cap, wire, and a radiator kept it from running for a few yrs.. and not to mention how spotless your garage is...

The video for whatever reason is FUBAR...if it starts "skipping" just fast forward a bit.

I rebuilt the carb over the summer. The jets needing replacing. It was running before, but wasn't running right. So it just sat for awhile before I was able to do anything with it.
