Default Dual Purpose JK

After having multiple trail only Jeeps I decided it is time to have a dual purpose Jeep. Sold the truck, trailer, and Jeep to buy a 2012 Rubicon. Not sure how much of a build thread this will be since it will be a lot of bolt on parts but, I wanted to make this thread to be able to follow the changes over time.

The ultimate goal is:

Rockkrawler 2.5 or 3.5 lift
37" tires
Poison Spyder bumpers and armor
Winch
Heavier duty skid plates
Upgrade lighting
RCV Shafts
Axle Trusses (already has c gussets)

The day I bought it:
I had to try out the lockers

About a week later I tried out the stocker rock garden at St. Helen.

I then installed flat fenders and 35" Toyo A/T tires and Mickey Thompson Wheels for the coming winter. This is with no lift and a DIY stubby bumper:

It turns out I managed to bend the lower rear control arm its very first time out on the rocks. RockKrawler arms are ordered.

So far I love the Jeep. I have been out more in this Jeep then any other Jeep I have ever owned. (it probably helps that it isn't tore apart in pieces in the garage)

I really wanted a stick but, this is an auto. The newer 5 spd isn't bad though.

They are from Smittybilt. I will probably eventually get poison spyder or similar flares with more quality/protection but, these were cheap and got the job done for now. A set of 4 is right around $250.

I'm extremely happy with my JK. Although I have a lot into it, it functions very well for both road and trail and rock so far. But I'm running a Tera Flex LA with FOX RR 2.0's, geared locked with a front Tera housing. After I get some fenders and a tire carrier I'm going to be on 37's or 39 Krawlers, not sure yet. The high speed ability at SLSD has been a blast, rides great down any Michigan trail, road manners are exceptional. Ya I'm pretty happy with the JK, besides everything costs more.

It is crazy what JK mods bring compared to TJ mods. I took mine to Silver Lake and was having a blast with it! By far the most I had with a Jeep there yet.

this weekend mine is getting a 2.5" teraflex spring kit/shocks and 315's. put a rancho tire carrier on last night. also have 4.88's and Artec 44 truss in the garage when the time comes. nothing carzy, just K.I.S.S.

bought our four door JK new in 09 and still love it!

i'm just glad we got in on the lifetime drive train warranty and also purchased the extended "cover my ass" warranty. they have both paid for themselves and then some.

with that being said, i don't plan on ever selling it. i'll just keep slowly building it up because it's an awesome, sexy, multi use vehicle.

Uh you guys are not helping me resist the urge to buy a JK! I miss having a multi purpose rig that I don't have to trailer around.
