[QUOTE=Deke]

This one is interesting. In Hoc Signo Vinces was our fraternity motto (Sigma Chi). It was what "appeared" in the sky next to a white cross in front of Constantine before the Battle of Milvian Bridge where he was greatly outnumbered. God instructed Constantine to put the cross on all the shields of his men. He won the battle, making Rome a christian empire. Its in Latin and it means 'In this sign, you shall conquer'

Just a little history lesson for ya'll. I definitely do not like the picture as it seems to portray the birth and death of christ in a morbid light. The guy is a talented artist for sure though. I liked his tree pictures. That phrase just caught my eye.

seeing a series like that from one artist made me think more about the artist than i usually would. Like sodapop said meeting the local artists at his mom art gallery, i wonder if this artisit would stick out even in a crowd of somber morbid artists. Makes me wonder if i could pick him out in a art-house crowd.

But then again maybe his art was dark,spooky and morbid but he was a controdiction and was a happy go lucky dude.

Interesting find deke.

This would have looked nicer than Michael Whelan's work gracing the covers of my H.P. Lovecraft books...

Interestingly enough the Art made me wonder more about Deke. Especially with some of his ongoing questions on Christ and/or Religion in general

I find it interesting how an artist who painted death met a violent end....very Twilight Zone.....

OMG, Thanks Deke. They told me that acid I had back in college wouldn't produce flashbacks! Oh how wrong they were.

Cool Pics. Would be good as a screensaver with a touch of Pink Floyd in the background.
