Default what to replace a 231 with

Broke my 231 in the XJ, is there a stronger easily swapable t case you would recommend to swap it out with.

I have been just stress cracking the cases, I dont really have enough power to break the gear set

Is it possible that there is a better way to mount it or is it the landing from jumps when on the throttle?

Gear down the axel ratio will take stress out of the tcase. Otherwise possibly the NP241OR rock track.

I cracked a couple 231's near the front output. So we tig welded some gussets around it and it survived quite a while like that. I don't know if the person who bought it is still running it or not.

idk about the strength of the cases
but a 241 out of a jk
208 out of a fsj
or you could always flip a d300

thats where i am breaking them, on top of the front output. Im guessing its from charging through the whoops.

honestly they last longer then expected. I just dont want to buy a atlas prior to the v8 swap and waste money on a adapter and input shaft

np207, probably should swap the tranny for the BA-10/5 that goes with it. Very stout.

My solution. If you look close you can see a vertical rib underneath the top one.
