Default Boredom and broke, how do you deal with it?

For those that are bored and broke, how do you pass time?
Trying to have ideas for when I'm up at school. Please do not include any sexual references.

Sleep, computer games, Speed channel/OLN/Animal Planet, keeping truck interior clean

Try Age of Empires 3 for the computer.. build up a civilization and then destroy someone elses.. kinda funny

For a cheap, easy on the resources game go buy John Deere North American Farmer. Build and manage your own farm.. and you get to drive the tractors

That's the main goal, but evey once and a while, you have to take a break, so you don't get burned out.

EDIT: You just made me think of something I hadn't before. There are a few things I'd like to learn about that I could research online. They aren't school related.

Thats what I meant. Something that intrests you enough that you'll just want to read about it on your own.

Education isnt just about school work. Round yourself out by knowing as much as you can about as many different things.

Knowing a little about many different things goes a lot further then a lot about a few things

A half gallon of Mohawk vodka is ~$10.00, IIRC.

I'm with Deke.

Don't think of it as broke - think of it as "simplified" and "focused".

You're in college and there's no time to be bored (that's what those classes are for). If you're bored and not carrying a 4.0 GPA, then you need to examine your priorities.

Now, my opinions are colored by my experiences (like everyone). I worked my way through undergrad and what grad school I attended, doing occasionally crappy jobs at crappy hours to pay for it. The social life had to be deferred to focus on the education part (side benefit - Nick At Night reruns of late 70s & early 80s TV shows are all new to me). I never had time to be bored, so look at it as a gift.

If you're worried about being bored, then get a part-time job. Wax the Jeep (98 is a very nice year ), read a (library)book, proof a paper... I became an outstanding .22LR marksman (cheap entertainment).

While I don't know you personally, I've remotely followed some of your "adventures" and you could use a little "simplicity and focus on finishing school" time.

And now you're referring to yourself in the third person?

Considering a career in pro sports?

does Ferris have a rec center? run, lift weights, racketball, tennis, basketball. We had a rock climbing wall at WMU maybe swim if your still in a messed up condition from last years accident. Swimings great physical therapy, great for muscles and joints. We also had a bowling alley, pool tables, ping pong so if you cant run yet and hate swimiing go hustle some freshmen at pool.

If you have time before the new semester spend some of it trying to get an on campus job, like in a cafeteria or computer center or the rec, even pushing carts at the library.

I've been looking for a job there for 2 months, and I know others who have been looking since last summer. The town didn't grow with the school.

I live off campus(cheaper) but I will look into what's available through the school.

While I like rock walls, I'm not so sure my knee can handle it. (previously shattered my patella in my right leg) Still not 100%

Research into physical therapy for your knee and work to get it as well as possible?

A balanced combination of short term and long term goals within your life wont let you be bored.
