x2 - everything at the Dunham's on Dixie Hwy is on sale and sitting in the parking lot, I can BUY an entry level kayak for about $250...although the idea of buying a paddle and using my new old-school rubber truck inner tubes is interesting too!

I am in Jim.

Oh, and technically, although we arrived within 24 hours of departing camp, it was technically the next day.

The Ontario MNR does not offer a non-resident 1-day license, only a week - makes for an expensive afternoon of fishing.

I'm also going to pass on the Sunday paddle adventure. It adds too much money and time to an already expensive weekend.

I'm sure it will be great fun if the weather is as good as last year.

Default Gilligan's '3 hour' Kayak Run

Update for all that are going or are interested:
Still working the logistics of transportation.
A local expedition guide can transport us but we may be limited in the number they can provide transportation for.
I'm also working with the campground hosts to see what they can assist with and have been told they will help us in any way. (This may be our best option but will play it by ear when we know how many are really going)

This is open to any and all GG Participants.
Please post up if you are interested.

What: Kayak/Canoe trip

When: Sunday Morning tentative Put-in time 9:00 am in Searchmont. Take-out 2:00-3:00 pm on Groth Road off 552 near Kirbys Corners

Where: Goulias River

Who's going:

Whiterhino = 2
kb8ymf = 2
Landjvalleau = 2
Lgottler = 1 1/2
Ken and Jerry = 2
phittie1100 = 1? 2?
Chevotass = 2?

Jim I never paid attention before - what is generally the condition of the river that time of year? Is this a lazy float, gently manoever around the obstacles? Rifle River sort of experience?

Why not just become a member and be done with it?

If you read post # 54 you'll see that the expedition company states possible Class II rapids. If you look at the conventional definitions they really just amount to rocky areas that need to be navigated.
