Bummer! I reserved a room there too. Van probably won't be fixered by then.

Blueberry has a cabin, house, single wide, and a few hotel rooms. Most are usually filled with local construction guys working in the area. Then there is Glenview up the road about 10 miles.

You'll fall in love with using a motorhome for traveling/wheeling, and when you do you can buy my motorhome.

It will be four years this fall. Just taking a year off (tired of making payments over the six months we don't use it) and selling it while everything is still works good. We will use that time to pay off our other dept and save for another motorhome. If it doesn't sell it will not hurt my feeling by no means. I just put all new tires on it so I'd like to get some use out of them first.

You wore out a set of tires already? How many miles to you have on it. You keep it garaged, right?

They drive it up to Dairy Queen every Tuesday night for the car show. He burns up a lot of tires doing bleach burnouts.

Default NEW EVENT ADDED to GG2014

To all the GG participants; we're going to try something new this year.
Kayak/Canoe/Rafting down the Goulias River on Sunday.
Many folks need to leave Sunday so our plan is to make this a Gilligan's 3 Hour Tour Run (more like 5 though)
Rough plans now are to run the Goulias from Searchmont down to the back of the campground. Stated travel times by a local Outfitter say it can be done is less than 4 hours. Local outfitter is running the river on Monday so the probability of reasonable water depth throughout is probably pretty good.

We have two potential options to offer up.
Contract with the local Outfitter guide to drop us off at the drop in point or make our own transportation arrangements.
I have not contacted the Outfitter yet as I do not know how many might join us so I'm not sure the cost for transportation.

Here's the Outfitters write up and the map of the intended route.
If you might be interested in this please speak up so we can get a head count and I can see what the Outfitter are willing to offer and what the rental rates for Canoes and Kayaks would be.

Right now the interested parties are:
kb8ymf=2
whiterhino=2
lgottler=1-1/2
landjvalleau=2 (need to rent)
indy=maybe
phittie1100=1

I am mixed. The comfort of the outfitter doing it 100%, especially if we could get them to pick us up directly at the campground is intriguing but expensive.

I wonder if the campground has a way to transport us and pull a trailer. For the cost of rental, we might be able to pay Diane's son a hefty sum to do it for us.

Either way, we will go with what the majority decides.

Let me get the costs from them including a few rental Kayaks and see where we stand.
I'm pretty sure we want to pull out at the back of tha campground as the last few mile so the river are a relatively slow.
I had not thought about picking us up at the campground but that makes sense.

Got a rough idea of a planned start time? I like the idea, probably not bringing Dad this year so just me. An early start would be great, could still make it home to work Monday morning assuming we don't need 14 hours to get down the river. Of course an early start requires a little bit earlier return to camp the night before than we did last year too.
