Default 05 ford escape engine removal

I picked up an 05 ford escape 3.0 fwd auto. It has a blown motor. From looking at it I think the engine will come out thru the top. Just curious if anyome has done this this way.

I'm guessing it's easier to drop the engine and transaxle as one unit from the bottom, but I really have no clue

i have never done one of these but either way u do it will be pretty close to the same amount of work. It takes a little more work to drop everything out the bottom but u dont have to waste half a day pulling all the accessories off the motor so it will fit out the top.

Take it apart the way it was put together. The engine and trans are usually installed from under on a fwd or awd car.

Follow the logic and you can figure out how to take it back on.
