Hey!

Yea, I figured I might as well.

Ive been trying to brainstorm, what I want to do for axles, thought this might help.

Find a hp 30 that's the same ratio as the 8.8 and run it till you break it

To clarify, I didn't mean hacking in an insulting, booty fab way, just that you're cutting the shit out of it.

This is true. I'm building my TJ on 1 tons and 40s and *REALLY* wanna DD it on nice days 40 miles each way to work. We'll see how that goes.

I say run this on your current axle and see how it goes. If they don't hold up then go tons.

I just re-geared to 4.88s, trying to make torque from the 4.0...

Now I need 3.73s again, because I have too much power.

Also the Previous owner put the 8.8 in and did a shit job on the brackets(they are scary)

So the 8.8 needs gears and brackets for me to use it.

No worries, I didnt mean anything, I was kidding.

In the "BRO" roll racing groups, I get shit on for "hacking" my cars up. but No worries, I get ya.

This is one of the reasons Im shifting my time to off road, you guys are much cooler. I hate the BRO atmosphere in racing.

I agree, Im in the same boat.
If Im on 40s soon, Ill be happy driving to work (40miles) once a week or so.
Also, I defintely want to be able to drive it up to drummond a few times a year.

I don't know when Ill afford a tow rig/trailer.

I liked it small, but with 800hp, I 100% plan on going 1 tons.
I was thinking about narrowing them to ~63" WMS.
but if I have the drivetrain and the power to handle 40s, I dont see any reason to run 35s.

My biggest goal is to stay low. I plan on stretching the front to get the axle in front of the crank.

So even on 40s I should be able to have ~18" belly with 5" uptravel.

Also, Im a big fan of over building for reliability.
My biggest fear is breaking something on drummond.
Its so desolate and 6hrs from home.

I really miss wheeling, and am not looking forward to more down time.
but I don't feel confident wheeling on these axles.

I appreciate the offer, but Im set on going 1 tons.

I drive like an ass hole, and don't want to build this thing twice.

Also, I have an affliction with tube work. Last year I built a tube chassis Fiero. and I have two (half completed, I have project ADD) front halfed Trans Ams. I love the options it opens up.

Well its town down most of the time.

but I've put ~4000miles locally on it since 09, so its definitely been around.

Assuming thats your jeep in your white CJ, I think im seen it around a couple times.

P.S. I was creeping, trying to find pics of your rig and saw you were looking for a welder. Let me know.

haha. Took me a minute.

I was trying to figure out what you were talking about, then ...I thought he was from Fenton...

Its confusing being the new guy.

There's definitely a big white CJ around Fenton though.

Thanks man.

Its the old setup out of my Trans Am, so its holding some pretty fancy parts, that I need to move to the Trans Ams new engine sometime.

Its a stock longblock LQ4, with a few tricks. Turbo is a basic borg S472. it was a beast in the Trans Am. Should be insane in the Jeep. It'll run on E85.

SO I just finished up Finals. WHEW, rough week.

I worked up the Jeep a bit today.

Tore down the engine to check things out. and finally finished the drivers side boat side. Passenger side should be done tomorrow. Boat siding was WAY more work than I figured, but it should be sweet.

Im really happy with how it turned out, Ive gained ~5" ground clearance everywhere.

Im suppose to be up at Drummond for the 4th of July with some friends. Its going to be a busy couple of weeks..

P.S. Someone buy my 4.0!!!

Im going to drive it for a bit, and then after awhile Im going to run the cage across the floor,
and get some mastercrafts, and I want to put in door bars,
and add a bunch of triangulation under the dash.
