Default *KEEPING NOW* 94K-mile 1999 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 4.0L/AW4/NP231

I have a very good-running 1999 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) with only 94K miles. It was mechanic-owned and daily-driven until it was broadsided on the passenger side. The vehicle is stripped down and on jack stands, but still runs in its current state. I start it every 1-2 weeks to keep it running regularly. Worth noting...
  • Equipped with the good 0630 cylinder head (vs. bad 0331 head)
  • New spark plugs
  • Mobil-1 10W-30 synthetic oil
  • Compression tested; good compression in all cylinders
  • NEW Napa alternator
  • NEW (never installed) AEV oil pan skid plate (only repainted with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Satin Black to cover up the gloss black factory powder coat) Install instructions/details HERE. *SALE PENDING*

I planned on using the engine, transmission & transfer case in
my Jeep FC170 Patina Rod
project, but decided to go with a more powerful driveline, given the weight of the vehicle (based on a 2008 F350 Cab & Chassis frame).

The engine is complete with all accessories (as much as you'd want/need), and is still in the vehicle. It's a distributor 4.0 (not coil packs). I do not want to separate the engine/transmission/transfer case.

Package deal for $1000, including all accessories (EDIT: Minus power steering pump, which I need for my daughter's XJ), wiring, computers, shifters/linkages, etc. Located in Cedar Springs, MI (49319).

I prefer cash, but will consider trades for:
  • Complete Cummins B3.3T or 4BT (no junk). I do realize that my Cherokee would be a partial trade toward this.
  • A single steel 2005-current Ford F350 dually wheel (8 x 200mm bolt pattern) & tire. One of mine for my project is fairly crusty.
  • 2005-current Ford F350 Dana 60 front unit bearings

I always wondered if that 4.0 was going to be enough for your build.

To anyone interested. I have heard this motor run and you wont be disappointed.

Will do, ChitownTJ. I'm open to offers (send me a PM with your contact info if you'd like). I just a need to ensure that its financially feasible to break up the parts. I'd also prefer to sell the engine first so the buyer can hear it run.

Bump. I'll consider breaking up the package (and if it doesn't sell, I'm just going to keep it all for spares for my daughters' Jeeps). I also plan on using the power steering pump for my daughter's new XJ.

A 4bt cummins will be awesome in that thing. I was secretly hoping a cummins 4 or 6 would sneak its way in there someday lol.

Final bump before I resort to keeping it (for the winter, or possibly for good).

The garage will be organized accordingly, and parts will be stacked around this Jeep for winter, like an oversized game of "garage Tetris". I'm pulling the ad after this weekend.
