Default Full width rear axle suggestions

I'm considering the Dana 60 at this point for a rear end under my ZJ. I'm wondering why many people run the matching 78-79 kingpin rear 60 over the E350 Dana 60 rear end? I see the E350 has the 35 spline outers already and can accept a low gear. Is it simply for the Kingpin factor rather than ball joint? Price difference is decent between these two axles. Width seems relatively close between Front 78-79 Kingpin vs E350 rear. What am I missing????
