what kind of mountain bike trails are you looking for?

There are endless opportunities along the North Country Trail. Some other options: Petoskey, Marquette, Munising, Copper Harbor (probably the best in the state), Pinkney state rec, Holly....

Well I should stick to easy to intermidiate. I am (we) are just getting into it. I am picking up a new Camber from Specialized. I am just going through a intensive physical therapy program an going to start on the easier trails and work my way up. Also my wife is new to it and my 8 year old son .

Gotcha.

Timber Ridge http://timberridgeresort.net/ is probably along the lines of what you are looking for. From there you could ride the VASA singletrack, which is pretty mellow and fine for new riders. There are some other trails a little drive away but they might be a bit much for your abilities, http://www.gtrlc.org/preserve/arcadia-dunes/ or http://www.gtrlc.org/protected-land/...-natural-area/

This place looks pretty nice http://munisingtouristpark.com/ and you could MTB on Grand Island.

Thank you for all the info. I will check all those out. We are just getting into this sport and are very excited. We have been out looking and researching bikes. I am going with the Camber and my wife is going with Jett. I have looked on single track.com and got a lot of great places to ride.
We live up in Midland and we have the city midland Forrest and another good place over in Sanford. We are planning on many day trips along with buying a travel trailer and going for longer trips.

My family hopes to do some trail riding while camping this year also. Such a good clean hobby.

Well might wait until next year to do the trailer. So a few tent weekends but a lot of day trips or I guess as much as I hate hotels , a few weekend hotel trips. I am really excited to pick up and take my new bike out. The Camber is a sweet bike.
