Default 93 Jimmy 4.3??

Anyone ever had to change a heater core on one?? How bad is it and do you have to take the whole dash apart to change it??

Not sure on the old style ones. The '94-up newer style, the whole dash has to come loose and even then it's a royal pain in the ass.

First clamp off heater core hoses under hood. Then loosen clamps and remove hoses and bolt holding core pipes. Then go inside the vehicle and remove all the screws up on top of dash by defrost vents. Remove the 3 bolts, one in each corner under dash and one near middle of dash underneath.
Remove glove box access panel in rear of glovebox. Remove under dash hush panels. Remove ash tray and trim around it. I use a ratchet strap and pull dash corner out slightly then remove small 7mm bolts from heater core cover. And vent hoses. (be carefull they break easily) Then remove straps holding core and remove core.. Install is reverse of dissassembly. Good luck
