This seems like we have some cops who just got back from Afghanistan or something, and were just looking to shoot someone

I read the article. 3 shots each from 2 officers.
Justified.

Seems highly excessive force, would be interesting to see/know what lead up to the police even being there.

Everyday the difference between officer and soldier becomes even more difficult to distinguish.

I see two bean bag guns yet someone chose to employ deadly force for a man wielding a knife. Generally speaking, when the bean bags are ineffective you transition to bullets, NOT use bean bean bags to confirm effectiveness of bullets.

I hope he is guilty of something more than camping

Trigger happy or just shooting out of fear? We do see more of this across the country. Excessive force used by officers and you need to wonder do they shoot out of fear. Is it a me or them attitude? I'm going home tonight no matter what. I saw a you tube dash cam clip of a cop shooting an old man getting out of his truck and grabbed a cane out of the back to support himself. You could see it was a cane but the cop shoot the old guy like three or four times.

This one doesn't state the 3 shots each, but I find this site to be a more compelling read.

I found this article, I hope you are being sarcastic when you say "Justified" because nothing in the article proves they were justified to me.
That article makes it sound like they believe they are justified to kill anyone they feel is a threat for any reason, even if that means shooting people in the back with a know that isn't even in arms reach.

How is a knife that much of a thread when the guy is that far away?

Case law 'Garner versus Tennessee', justified.

Wow is right. I had to watch the video again, he was walking away when he was shot. That is crazy.

Tennessee v. Garner, 471 U.S. 1 (1985)[1], was a case in which the Supreme Court of the United States held that under the Fourth Amendment, when a law enforcement officer is pursuing a fleeing suspect, he or she may use deadly force only to prevent escape if the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others

How was there a SIGNIFICANT threat of death or serious injury?

Police have a very dangerous job. The guy with the knife was obviously an idiot.
That is all I have to say.

I thought the same thing. However with our lawyers of slime the officers will get off justified.

I'm thinking the guy with the knife had some psychological issues.

Murder is OK when a cop pulls the trigger it seems.

This story kinda reminds me of a local story not too long ago.
http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/...father_wh.html

The cops who shot this guy were back on the job less than a week from the shooting. I don't condone that fact that the guy pulled a knife but they didn't have to kill him.

There's a live leak video of a guy in some third world country in a stand off with armed police and he went berserk and managed to stab like four cops before one of those incompetent idiots managed to shoot him. They were circled around him with a distance of about 30 feet between them and him and the dude still got successfully stabby.
