Default Waterfowl Hunting

I have a couple 870 Wingmasters and they work out pretty well for waterfowl. The one down fall that I have is that the recovery time from the pump really drops when getting ready for a second shot.

Anyway, I am considering a semi-auto for my next shotgun. For those of you that hunt waterfowl, what do you use? How do you like it? Any problems?

my buddies love their sx2 and sx3's (the one with the sx3 is running into more issues trap shooting with it )

I have no issues with my 1300 pump.

I'll have to check them out. I've been eyeing the Mossburg 935.

I have no knowledge of mossberg.

I do know that I have less problems than they do with my pump vs their semi when the gun goes for a swim in the swamp.

It's not a speed game, it's an accuracy game (I'm still working on that). I switched to kent this last season, and I ain't going back. Also started shooting 4s and keeping some BB with me to swap out in case of geese.

Mossbergs are great guns. After doing some research on them, I am sold and would not hesitate to buy one. I've always been a Remington guy. Winchesters were always a 2nd option.

Of course, pumps will have less problems than a semi-auto. I've read that if you change out the spring of the sx2/3's, they will eject 3.5" shells like butter.

Yea accuracy ftw. First time out I think I went through a couple boxes with only one hit

I shoot the Federal Blackcloud 3s high velocity and I love it.

Been running my rem 1187 for many years, it's a bit heavy but has been pretty bulletproof, considering the punishment it has gone through.

I would recommend any of these.

we hunt the center of the state, but we are usually much farther north than you.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm hoping to beat my 5 weekends in a row duck hunting this year... maybe even hunt some weekdays

Get an older Winchester M12. No trigger disconnect. Bang away.

I use my 870 when I'm in my kayak. If I'm on land I use my Beretta auto or a Browning A5. Usually the Beretta as I seem to shoot it much better.

I have a stoeger 3500, and love it, it was fairly cheap and reliable and shoots good, but I also like the versa max for more money, or the 11-87 is a nice gun too, my buddy I hunt with has one and it shoots nice, but he had a few jams where my cheaper stoeger has had far less

My go to is a winchester super x2 waterfowl edition. I use my Remington 1100 on occasion too. If I was buying another semi it would be a benelli m2 American.

Hands Down I shoot two guns Beretta 391 and a Benelli SBE. I have put tens of thousands of 3" rounds through my Beretta 391 and never a jam, flinch, or issue. I give it a thourgh shot of brake clean after a 1,000 rounds or so, pull the barrel snake through it and break it down once a year to go through every nick and cranny.
I have ran everything through it, high grade steel, crappy estate loads, dirty Kents, and the only thing I will not shoot again is BLACK CLOUD.
I have only put a box of T shot through the Benelli as I use it as a back up gun when traveling.
