Default Harlan, KY March 28, 29

Just a couple of us heading down to do some wheeling for a few days.

Planning on staying and using north entrance. Last time I was there it had only been around for a few years. Can't wait to see what else they have opened.

Cabins make it nice. Park right in front of the door, stay on the trail leading into the park. They look to be filling up, we reserved cabin 1. Gas is right down the road. Bring your own beverages, we found out last time thinking to buy food etc when we got there that its a dry county.

We also found out the mayor drives around in a limousine. Lets not forget to mention getting invited to some cock fights, which the local guys demonstrated for us.

We rode Harlan county about 8yra on quads. What awesome riding! We also learned it is a dry county the hard way Lol. Is this an open invite? If so my son and I might be interested in taking our Jeeps down.

Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads!

Yup open invite. Great thing about this place are the multiple routes, you can loop around and meet together after hard sections if you wish.

We've got a cabin with open bunks, pm me if you are interested.

Mixed group. I want to bring my daughter, but I think she would scream too much because of the hills!

I'm in.

My plan is to bring the Samurai, which is locked both ends on 31's. However if I don't get the things done to it that I need to, I'll be bringing my Cruiser, which is locked both ends on 35's.

Right now I am a for sure. My Girlfriend is on the fence and the time may not work for her. She'll most likely make a set choice a week before.

I probably won't be bringing any kids.

Awesome! Welcome!

I'm the guy that also went with Lucas (lgottler) on the first trip to Harlan he was talking about.

Thanks for the welcome. 16 days and a wake up to go! Our TJs are almost ready. Just gotta put on my flairs, do some oil changes, and other minor things. Spent the last couple weekends finishing up some mods and maintenance projects. Bought a full size spare for Bruce's Jeep and rebuilt his shifter. Did an upper coil mount correction, installed a 1.25" body lift, and painted the under carriage on mine. Gonna pull the trailer in the shop this weekend to pm the axle bearings. Also gotta make sure the critters didn't chew up the brake/lights wiring. Then just packing tools and spare parts. Can't wait to go somewhere that's not all white. I'm so sick of winter.

Changes for me: No way will the Sami be ready, and chances are my Cruiser won't be either. So I may just ride shotgun with lgottler and be winch wench and cameraman.

I just need to build a spare front driveshaft, paint my hub guards, put on a new passenger hub case, and build a skidplate for the underside. Been super busy at work (7am to 1 am work days suck), so I'm a little behind on projects. Spare shaft just needs joints and some welding, the one in the Jeep is a little tweaked. Hub wont disengage, cracked plastic, so I need to take that apart and replace whatever is busted. I built some clamp on hub protectors that clamp on the metal hub and extend out over the soft metal selector switch, we'll see on this idea.

Hoping for good weather. Had a schedule scare, thought church was going to reschedule our daughters shindig for this trip weekend, but false alarm.

I am officially riding shotgun so the stress of getting my junk ready is gone.

Lucas I'm pretty open mon-wed if you need help drinking your beer in your garage.
