On a plus side, with that many pitches last night, Sloppy Joe won't be avaialable to close, so Joba should get the nod. Hopefully that means the "Joba is the new closer" train catches on. But I have no idea what you would do with Sloppy except only put him in in non-save situations.

And back to playing like shit, even in the wins they didn't play all that great. Anibal has got fucked hard this season, no run support.

Ant the bullpen fucks us yet again, and after the bullpen blows the lead, we stop hitting.

This team hasn't been fun to watch in the least bit the last month. That fucking ump was blind when Tigers were batting, high and outside, low and outside, outside, high, low all called for strikes against the Tigers.

call me a bandwagon fan, but dedicating time to watching a losing team is not fun, let me know when they are winning consistently again and I'll be interested in watching.

I don't like watching am under-performing team.

Losing a good game to a better team is one thing, but going out and laying an egg is another.

Seems like today is june 10th 2003. Just watching these guys and not looking at the calendar, sure reminds me of that season. Just no Inge.

This is a better way to express my opinion on the matter.

I watched this guy pitch relief on Sunday for the White Caps;

http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats...pbp&pid=572080

I'm guessing the Tigers will be pulling him up soon. He had a 5 pitch inning that went 94, 97, 96, 96, 78.

Good control, a lot of heat.

I hope 78 was a typo or a wicked slider.

It seems that in the big show, if you want to rely only on heat you need to be at least 96mph. And 98+ is better.

I hope 78 was his off speed pitch, anyone with that kinda spread and control should be able to kick ass in the majors.

I am afraid this isn't just a low. The Tigers are maybe just not very good this year :-(

I agree 2 weeks is a slump, 3 weeks if wondering if its still just slump, a month is when you realize the team just lost their spark. I still think they have a good chance at winning the division, but no way they can go far at all.

Something seems to be missing. There is no sense of urgency. Maybe Ausmus needs to publicly lose his shit to get their attention. I recall Leyland doing something similar in his first season after a bad series against the Indians around Easter that year.
