My .45 holds 6. Since I've never shot anyone, I don't know how quick I'd squeeze. I figure the extra insurance is a good idea, especially around city airport.

It's more of a malfunction thing for me. If I get a double feed or something, I want to be able to rip the old one out, and stuff in a fresh mag.

I carry five mags for a total of 51 rounds for my HK45T. I carry six in the chambers and four speed loaders for my Colt Trooper .357 for a total of 30.

Why?

Cause I can

Not to say malfunctions don't happen, but I have had .01% rate of malfunctions out of all the rounds I've ever fired, and I've fired a lot. And with that being said I can strip the mag and replace with same mag with the malfunction cleared in about the same timeish you could strip, rip and replace.

When I strip a mag, I let it hit the ground and go for the next one on my belt.

Same.

Not gonna take the chance that the problem is actually magazine related during a life or death situation. Drop, clear, start fresh. It's faster anyway.

I know what you mean, but I've also trained to clear with a single mag. I don't want to carry extra mags

That's why I Like my 19+1 xdm. I do carry one extra mag. 20 rounds is a hell of a shoot out. If your in a shoot out that requires more than 20 rounds you have better found cover and concealment anyway.

Funny, yesterday I showed up for a service call in Romulus at a housing project. The tenant got home from his midnight shift when I arrived. His place was broken into. He is an open carry security guard. He drew is weapon Hi-point 9, go figure. .. and went room to room. I waited on the porch. He was pissed, and shit was missing according to him. Nobody was there, but you never know. I didn't hint that I was carrying. He seemed pretty proud to secure the situation. :)

I'll be in Jamaica in a couple hours. No pew pew there. I guess a $6,000 yearly fee can buy you a gun permit, and you still can't carry it anywhere. When they basically banned guns, their crime rate went up. Go figure.
