More of a rectangle I suppose. I'm thinking more of a 50 yard range for now. Which Is no fun for scopes but still better than going to a range.

Tree clearing sounds fun. It also creates a large supply of firewood for after shooting beer time shenanigans.

I'm still about 3-4 years away from it, but I have high hopes to buy a full size 4x4 backhoe with a cab as soon as I get my house done and move in. My property needs one.

Go big or go home but in all seriousness I plan on also using it for way more than just on my property and for personal use. But there is so much I need to do around my property, it will pay for itself in time.

I chewed on lead pellets as a child and I turned out OK...

At least I think I'm OK.

1500 yard range would be awesome. It's been a long time since I shot on a range like that.

When the snow melts we will be up there scouting . I guess the DNR had this place clear cut and the area is perfect. It's rough getting steel targets in some spots but it's worth it.
Once we get it nailed down I will get you directions .

Sounds like fun. Likewise when I get my range complete.

So was this state land that was sold off?

No state land that was completely clear cut from what I understand. I have a person looking for areas we can shoot . Our current spot is parallel to a road and gets busy in the summer months.

Here's a picture the road is right of the scope and if you look to the left of the scope above the parallax knob the two dots are 1000.

I noticed a lot of logging going on just south of the houghton lake area off some of the snowmobile trails.

I wonder if its more planting for the kirtland warbler ? We found an area clear cut near the closed area for this bird but didn't have a good backstop.
