Default Dana30 low pinion

My question is I have 2:72 gears in my dana 30 and want to put a good used set of 4:10's in it. It is a low pinion with a long pinion gear. I seen on another forum the cj dana 30 low pinion is the same as the TJ Wrangler and the 2000-2001 XJ Cherokee.
Are the ring and pinion and carrier interchangeable? Is the pinion gear short or long?

Carriers can swap ring and pinion no. Cj is long pinion tj/xj/late zj are short. Early zj were long but crush sleeve where Cj uses shims

if it is a 2.72 ratio and a 'long' pinion, that is a standard rotation CJ-era D30.

The ring and pinion is not interchangeable with a later model Jeep D30, but the carrier and parts inside the open carrier (spider and side gears) are interchangeable. The carrier split on a D30 is 3.54 and down (numerically speaking) and 3.73 and up.
