I Guess More Common Than It Sounded To Me, As Long A You Could Get A Spare Shaft Or Something If Needed I Would Run It.

65.25 is the normal width for rear axle matching the front axle. so I don't think its a weird width and ill put a 35 spline Detroit in it so full float shafts shouldn't be a prob.

started to get some parts mocked up. waiting on tcase to get here, and sandblaster didn't get axles blasted yet. after calling randys ring and pinion found out this 70 is a odd ball. its out of a 91 cummins with 3.07 gears, small pinion bearing and I would have to get a weird Detroit and run thick ring gear. so im ditching that axle. got a 70 out of a 79 ford coming should be common parts for that one and possibly have 35 spline axles already.

got the front axle mockup jigs made

canadized the rock rings. and mounted a roller

old school small chevy-turbo 400-borgwarner tcase. motor will be a 400 when I get a chance to put it together, 350 out of my blazer will go in until I get the 400 done.

yea I agree bad ass hammer, I just warrantied one out through snap on guy so I have a brand new one too

trying to figure out what to do for serpentine setup. don't really want to run the factory brackets and I don't have all the pulleys for them. so looking for inexpensive aftermarket set up, or prob should just make my own brackets since im not even sure what steering pump im gonna be running yet.

got drivetrain mocked up. trying to decide on link lengths and driveshaft lengths so I can start the belly. where I have it sitting right now its looking like only 24" rear driveshaft. wondering if I can get 20" wheel travel out of a shaft that short.

Do you really need 20" of wheel travel?

probably not. I have 20" of rear wheel travel and 14" of front wheel travel in my current rig and really don want to downgrade. im shooting for 16" front wheel travel and 20" rear travel on this buggy the big difference will the bump travel, shooting for 8-9" bump travel in the front and 9-10" bump travel in the rear.
