Default Oakland County Radio Shack

Is there Radio Shack in Oakland County that still has real electronics vs a glorified cell phone store? We have one store like that in Flint but I am working in Farmington Hills today.

As in CB's? Not that I know of. They all carry CB equipment but it's pretty sparse. You are better off to stop at a truck stop on the way up.

Specifically looking for 12v 2 wire waterproof quick connects. There is a geeky electronic nickname for them, like calling every flexible sewer pipe connector a "fernco" even if not made by Fernco.

There is one on the corner of Union Lake Road and Commerce Road. In the Hillers Plaza next to Ace Hardware Store.

If you can't find one down there the Owosso store has electronic parts, about 30 minutes from Burton when your home. I'd call before you go, if I remember I will stop in when I go to our other house.

Edit: I did not see the Flint reference.

Most radio shacks still have a big set of drawers that have all sorts of connectors. Usually in the back.

find the connector on their website, then call the store nearest you and ask them if they have it in stock, I've found a few things that way here at one of the Waterford stores.

edit: couldn't find ANYthing even close on their website, sorry.

Theres one in lake Orion, but its not a great selection. What are you looking for, like a weatherpak connector? Might have them in the help or electric section of decent auto parts stores also...

Weatherpacks, thanks I knew there was a cute name for them. Thanks for the input, I was hoping someone had a bead on a specific "go to" location in OC like our Miller Rd store in Flint if you were looking for something more specific than a USB cable.

Ive never been to a radio shack that didnt have the drawers full of electrical connectors. 12 and tel has it as does the one of woodward in birmingham. If you want to go further, terminal supply in troy has ever type of connector you can imagine

If there is a Grainger nearby, I think they have them.

I googled "Weatherpack" and found some on Amazon. I'd be very surprised if you find anything like that at Radio Shack.

I hit a couple of the locations mentioned on the way home yesterday, didn't find what I was looking for. Found something that would work at Auto Zone, going to do some more looking this morning. Thanks for all the input.

How does a store like radio shack stay in business and a store like circuit city fails?

there are less and less DIY'ers around, so RS has changed their stores to sell what people are buying. CC was not even the same type of store so I don't know why you are comparing the 2.

I will tell you why I'm comparing the two. Every radio shack I've been to looks like it was just robbed. The place is always a mess, and other than their electronic parts nothing there is any good. And their electronic parts can't carry the store. You are talking about cheap diodes and resisters. Circuit city on the other had was a store that sold name brand electronics, it was well organized, and clean. If you don't like the comparison between circuit city and radio shack, pick any retailer, any one at all
