Default tire recommendations please

anyone have a good tire they can recommend?

2001 z71. Looking for a 265 or 275 that is great on and off road. I went to napa and was quoted 660 for some cooper discovery AT-3's. Look like descent tires. That was with the hazard warranty thing.

anyone have them? anyone have any better recommendations? I dont want the pay the BFG AT prices, but am looking for that type of tires. Good on road and off road/in the weather.

But also need good hardtop tread life. opinions?

dueler a/t revo 2; or the discoverer at 3; both seem like the same general style. Love my revo 2's in the snow

I'm liking the falken wild peak's that I have on the wife's xj right now. Need to do a little cutting now since the outside tracks weren't full depth lugs... since it sees off-road driving.

I have older Cooper ATs they haven't been bad but tread life is not as good as claimed. That seem like good price, is if for load range D?

I have the Cooper Discoverer ATP (265 Load E) on my 2001 Silverado Z71, which is a Discount Tire exclusive that I believe is slightly more aggressive than the AT3. I've been frustrated with Discount Tire, but I'm very happy with the tires. I rarely go offroad, but I was pleased with how they ran through some mud getting in and out of a campsite this past summer. Nothing crazy. I'd say it was mostly about 6-10" deep, maybe more in some spots, and walked it right through it.

I'm happy with them in the snow, but I don't have much to compare them to. They bite well on everything except pure ice; no surprises there. I had BFG Long Trails on there previously, which were absolutely terrible. They may as well have been trailer tires IMO.

The Coopers are relatively quiet; perfect IMO. Enough noise to sound aggressive without being annoying. They're comfortable on the highway. I've hauled sand, gravel, stone, mulch, etc... in this truck a lot over the years, and these tires handle it MUCH better, but I had SUV tires before and now have Load E rated tires.

It's a good all around tire IMO. I only drive about 4,000 miles a year, so I can't really comment on wear. With about 8k miles on them, they still look fairly new.

I cnannot say enough good things about my hankook atms. Have them on both trucks now, 265 on the 1500 and 285 on my 2500. Both are the best tire all around, ive run all sorts of coopers, bfgs, and goodyear. Nothing compares.

The bridgestone Dueler Revo was a great snow tire and all around tire for a DD.

I currently have a set of the Goodyear Silent Armor's in a 285/65 and I couldn't be happier. 50,000 mile tread warranty, so far they have been very good in the snow/ice. I don't "mud" them but they have done well in the mud I have encountered. I do a lot of jagged rock and large gravel type mountain/logging roads during the summer months and they have proven very durable thus far.

They also balance out well and are fairly quiet.

I just put the Hankook atm's on my Excursion. After testing them in this weeks snowstorm I'm very happy
