Not jump starting. Wife came home from work, 5 min drive. We went back out half an hour later and not even a click. crawled under to check voltage and had 12v at the starter and nothing at the solenoid. Jumped up to the fuse box and found a blown 40amp fuse. The only time I've blown that kind of fuse was with a starter that locked up and wouldn't crank and was after a second of trying. this is an instant blown fuse as soon as you touch the start portion of the key. I'm. going to pull the starter and get it checked. I'm thinking I may have an internal short in the solenoid. if not I have to find it in the wiring.

I would agree with a faulty solenoid.

not entirely positive, but I believe there is issues with the a/c clutch shorting out causing this fuse to blow. not on any wiring diagrams, but I have seen something similar on other gm cars, simply unplug a/c compressor clutch and see if it blows, just an idea....
