Default School bus/camper/tow rig

I swore someone on here had one, but cant find it.

I was thinking about getting a 24 or 28 ft enclosed trailer to haul stuff. (quads and sleds etc...) then camping in it instead of a tent. well Im looking at 6-8k plus setting up the inside for break down camping (breakdown so I can fit the toys in it).

Then the wife came by and said I saw this cool thing on DIY about doing a school bus as a camper... IM DOWN!

so I started doing a little research, and youtube watching and man some people have done some awesome conversions!

Anyone have any input though?

I know they are safer and better built than any rv will be. I hear people pick em up for under 2000 dollars with under 100k at "school auctions".

Any idea on how to get into or find said auction? I found a few on c-list for 3-4k which is not bad (cheaper than enclosed trailer). But, one of the bus builders I saw online said to talk to people locally and be patient and you can get them for MUCH cheaper.

Any other input? anyone looked into doing this and ran into any show stoppers etc (like registration issues or?)

Buy one already converted to an rv or plan on jumping threw hoops to change the title from bus to rv

I will wait to here if you get anything in!!! Ill talk to you in a few months about it!

If I could stay around 2k that would be great, but 3 and under will work! Willing to pay a little more for lower miles.
