Not really. That had a slight impact, but not nearly as big as the fact that the short term used car market dried up due to leasing pretty much disappearing for a few years.

Used cars outsell new around 3:1 typically. When demand picked back up for used vehicles, the supply wasn't there.

Are you saying I need to drop my prices to sell my vehicles?

If it gets totaled that's problem solved.

KBB says $5300 for my 2000 Wrangler sport in good condition. That seems about right.

I couldnt give away my 98 cherokee. Higher mileage, people didnt want a truck type suv, its now the shop plow truck. My grand lost half its kbb after 2 years, now kbb says 3500 for v8 02 grand.

New truck suv prices.... I'll never buy another new car. My house isn't worh what a new truck costs!

The increasingly higher prices of the new trucks is what keeps driving the price of the older ones up as well.

I was looking at H3's this fall... They are selling for more now than when we bought it 3 years ago.

I could flip ours and make about 8k on the deal and we would have driven it for free for 3 years.

When you do that, people assume it's a POS because it's so easy to get a KBB value online.

I like the people that ask 2 or 3 grand over the kbb value in excellent condition. I had a 2001 4x4 ranger for sale a couple years ago with 208xxx miles on it. It was an easy sell for $3000. Guy came from West Branch all the way to my house in Marlette to buy. I just kbb it for fun and see that the kbb value in fair condition is now $5500. Should have just kept it .

KBB has never been on point for what vehicles are actually going for. My obs 2x4 powerstroke with 300k miles is apparently worth around $5500 in fair condition on kbb I could never see getting anywhere near that.
