I was gonna use a blazer frame and decide that i didnt want all the frame flex that was an inherent issue with them. my current rig is only 109" wheelbase and it wheels awesome so as i see it at 118 wb that will give me more than enough room for the doubler since the nv4500 is shorter than my current tranny

Lousypirate, you can Hang your rear shackles off the back side of the rear bumper and offset the center pin back on the leaf pack you can go a pinch more, that's what I did on an old yj project.

This was my plan in the back of this rig since the 56" springs are already offset pin. which in theory would give me a lil more wheelbase also wouldnt it?

yup.

I knew about the hanging it off and offset center pins, but just went for simplicity sake.

You could either gain wheelbase or bob the bed more and keep the wheelbase that you want.

as far as a bed is concerned that is still open i didn't want the military bed for a few reasons first and foremost i just didn't like the look of it. 2nd there heavy as hell, last but not least the guy wanted 500 for the bed LOL. so I'm kinda rollin with the idea of a factory bed with radiused arch flairs like the front fenders the bed would be around 5.5' long and depending which way i run the rear springs either 26" to the back or 30" to the back prolly the 30" to the back. which should give me less axle wrap

Instead of letting your springs do the work with axle wrap why don't you just run an anti wrap bar? What kind of factory bed are you thinking about running? I absolutely love the old military trucks. I have a couple m-37s sitting behind the barn. Someday I would love to do to one of them what you are doing only with a cummins in it.

I hope you subscribe to four wheeler.

If you don't, buy or thumb through the Feb 14 issue.

I subscribe when they go under $1 an issue.

I paid $7.50/yr each for four wheeler, Petersen's, and diesel power
