Default spring is here

And the fun time begins. We began tearing the front clip off of the donor 1996 powerstroke truck. And yes we took pictures.
Most of the front clip was bad enough (rust) that it was simply easier to cut off and pry off than it was it remove "properly".
Hoping to get to the drivetrain tonight, or tomorrow at the latest.
Pictures to come.

Are you going to be selling any parts off the donor?

Default parts and bits extracted

Things I knew but didn't really contemplate;

A cummins swap would have been way easier. Lol. Oh well, mine will be unique then.

Gas pedal? check!

Snagged the computer, controllers, modules, harness, anything and everything cause you just never know.

Brake upgrade, sure, I will take all that as well...

There will be some fab work in the near future I fear;

I would look into running a hydro-boost sys off a 99+ SD and get rid of the vac. pump and vac. booster.

So this pirated brake set up from the donor is not as good? Is the set up you are talking backwards compatible with this 1996 7.3?
I am down for all suggestions, as this is a black of hole of hands on learning at its finest.

So it took a little persuasion from the following friends of mine to get the radiator core support out of the way. I would like to thank Willard, Mr. Saws all, Mr air hammer, and Mr Angle grinder.
This truck had a rough life as evidenced by the amount of brunt force trauma inflicted to get this out of the way.

The end result is we are almost there. Disconnect connection to the starter, drive shafts, and grab the steering column and if the weathers cooperative, maybe out tomorrow. Either way, small victory today, and with it being tulip time, we of course had to have elephant ears!

Default diesel question

The donor is a 1996. From what I am reading, I do not need the steering column (chip/key/computer) for this year, its a standard column overall whereas the newer models have the chipped key, or necessary stuff in the column that are necessary to start the truck.

Can some one here educate me on this?

So the motor is free. Blood, sweat, beer, and curse words. Couldn't have done it without everyone's help.

Thinking of keeping the stickers, as an homage to the guy I rescued this from.
Thoughts?
