Very cool truck and should be an interesting project.

However....A Powerstroke is no more a Ford than a Cummins is a Dodge. Just saying. I bleed Ford Blue myself but after seeing some 12v swapped trucks around here I gotta say the simplicity is tempting.

You have a point. Mechanical versus electrical makes a lot of sense in regards to ease of installation.

Well as of this moment, I have my donor truck, and I have all winter to read up and see how brutal this may be.

Totally down with this build, great truck and great plan for it. I understand wanting the 7.3, I'd want it done the same way. I'd have no issue with swapping a nice Cummins in there either.
Are you going newer interior also or sticking with the 73-79?

Newer interior for sure. Will track down a King Ranch interior, may build a visor shelf for extra electronics. I actually have a list of all intended things. I will post that tomorrow if I can find it.
Haters gonna hate, but I am taking the massive bumper off my Bronco and put on the CC when it is all said and done.

Stacks have been debated more times than I count. I love 'em when done right, but I am just not sure yet.

Wait until you see the donor trucks exhaust. Its a "stack" of sorts, coming right out of the hood, much like mud boggers do.

And thanks to your Bronco's bumpers, I can now enjoy the monstrosity of a bumper I had on my Bronco.

Default wish list

OK, those on my list are my intentions, and all may not agree, but as with all lists, some things get changed, so we shall see. Its all in the drawing stages right now:

turbo gauge (they didn't come with one in '78)
Trans Temp Gauge
upgraded air intake
chipped (thinking BullyDog 3 positions)
6.0 intercooler (all the diesel sites have stated and proved this intercooler is much larger and better for the 7.3)
injector improvement
electronic fans
air locker front and rear (already running 4.10's, with a sterhling axle in the rear)
disc brakes (upgraded as much as possible)
power windows
power rear slider
2% limo tint
I was told Dakota Digital makes dash set ups for this year truck, may just do that too
TVs in headrest (for my little guy)
PS3 (plays DVD and Blue Ray, plus, I got the PS4 in the house, so what else would I do with my PS3)
auxiliary power set up
fridge in truck? (lol, my little guy suggested this because of our long road trips. we shall see)

Thinking of running 37" tires (truck has an 8" lift already)
hideaway/swing away (electronic) step ups to enter cab (don't they make these that double as underbody armor against rocks?
light bar off of the bronco (not sure yet on this one)
HID lights
Cowl Hood (thank you LMC)
Grab bars on the exterior (maybe, its a style choice and not sure I like it or not)
third brake light under tailgate (the long LED strips)
On board air set up
drive shaft loops
keeping manual hubs
bed tool box with extra tank built in
custom gas tanks to be
a. diesel compatible
b. largest capacity possible
Custom soft bed cover or just bedliner it (up in the air on this currently)
Large recovery winch bumper off of my bronco either
a. matte black
b. body color black

I saw a truck at this years bronco/ford swap meet in Hudsonville, MI. Dually crew cab with a custom recovery bumper that held his spare and other items on the bumper. I know some may not like this, but since I am dealing with a short box with a tool box/tank in the bed, this seems to be the best option.

That's as far as I got on this list, beer was more important last night.
