I have never owned one of their revolvers. I can't stand their rifles. The one I owned and the rest of them I have seen didn't even have free floating barrels. It makes for a lot of extra work to make it shoot descent. I usually glass and pillar bed all my rifles but it is a pita having to sand out the whole barrel channel before bedding.

I like their older rifles but I haven't handled their new ones. Their revolvers aren't as pretty as a Smith or Colt but they're built like tanks and easy to work on.

I bought my wife a ruger sr22 and it's a great shooter so far with about 500 rounds through it. It's pretty much the ultimate man stopper.

Just because a barrel isn't free floated doesn't mean it isn't an accurate rifle...

If in is a non sealed wood one piece stock it can generally be made more accurate by Free floating the stock.

Bayliners are boats that float and move across the water, but no self respecting boat owner would buy one

Rugers bad rap is mostly from their P-series guns like P89 P95 etc and the Mini 14's . After the old man passed the company has improved the mini's and brought out the LC/SR-series handgun that are very popular.
The magazine sticking out of the Ruger AJ posted looks like the shit Sig ships with their 1911's. If I was you I would invest in some decent magazines like Wilson or Chip McCormick .

The SR series got a bad rep right out of the gate because of the recall, and the LCP had a recall too.

It seems that every gun manufacture has had its problems . This is a outdated list but some very popular guns (Including Honcho's Mark II's)are on the list. The red R's mean recall and the W's mean warning.

Muddinman your opinion is the only bad one ive read. I researched the gun before I bought it. Everyone said they loved it. Its 100% made in America and comes with a lifetime warranty! It was also $100 cheaper than anywhere else. I've got 100 rounds through it and no problems yet. Also, it doesnt feel cheap at all to me. Every gun store and person that's shot it; loves it. To bad your not as knowledgeable about trading trucks as you are with guns

I thought most military issued hand guns were Ruger 1911s? I could be wrong though.

No, Beretta 92 is standard issue now. The 1911 has not been standard issue for a long time and I don't think it was ever a Ruger
