That is what I am thinking. I think for a first gun and a hand me down from my father I will keep it in the family.

A handgun is what I want and will be my next purchase.

It will probably need some attention as my dad has not fired it in a very long time, hoping it has not been neglected too bad.

If you don't intend to concealed carry, imo you can't go wrong with a Springfield Armory "Loaded" 1911.. combat sights, ambidextrous saftey, nice looking grips, solid guide rod, all around nice pistols. A little pricey, about 8-900.

Iv shot that same exact pistol at the gun range
Iv also shot much cheaper 1911s

And Rugers are a giant pos


I really like the Springfield they had also the taturus i think that's how it's spelled 1911 was really nice to

Ruger should stick with 10-22s and the mk series pistols.
