Why would I want to spend $100 for a TV that does not work?

If Scoobie could provide a model # it might be an easy repair or someone needs parts from it.

If that's all it needs just spend the $60 and then sell it. At least you are selling a working tv and not a paper weight.

Just figured someone would want a 42" tv for $160 total

The thing with a tv is you are guessing that it is only a $60 part but you really don't know for sure. You can get a new 42" tv for around $350.
