Several hours of combined orbital sander, wire-wheel-on-a-drill, and old-school hand sanding later, one of the F350 front coil springs is now sanded/primed. I could have just sprayed over the difficult undercoating overspray, but this is the kind of work/detail that of like to think sets my Jeep builds apart from the pack.

I also got the Dana 60 front axle loaded on the dolly, and ready to bring into RockSolid Performance next weekend for new U-joints & ball joints (both preventative maintenance before cleaning up, painting & installing the axle). Yes, the axle will be strapped down better before hauling it.

A H-U-G-E thanks to Robert at RockSolid Performance for being such a great teacher, and helping me learn how to replace front axle U-joints & ball joints on my Dana 60. It gave me peace of mind having him walk me through it, as he does this stuff in his sleep, and it's the first time I have done it.

While I was at it, I prettied up the inner knuckles & Cs, and hit them with a coat of Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. The rest of the axle will be cleaned up & painted soon...or eventually, anyway. It's back home, and ready to be cleaned up & painted.

awesome. I'm subscribed. I've got the EXACT same axle going into the front of my TJ. Not sure what I wanna do for suspension right now, since the driver's side radius arm mount is that massive cast chunk.

Looks good though, keep it up

Thanks, Schvin.

Jeep work is on hold this weekend, as I married my incredible bride this morning. WOOT!!!

I'm arranging pick-up of several more Jeep FCs/parts in a couple weeks). I'm buying all of these as a package deal, and couldn't be happier with the find! The seller is very friendly & knowledgible, and has been great to work with. I'll be getting a 16K-mile FC170 (gray), a restorable FC150, a rough FC170, a nice FC150 cab (yellow, originally from Colorado), and a rough FC170 cab (blue), a rolling FC170 frame/chassis, and a FC150 chassis, among other misc. parts. It'll take 2-3 trips to get it all home, but it's worth it, IMHO.

You're going to need a bigger back yard.

Thanks guys! I'm a lucky man!

Little progress has happened on my project, as I have been busy hauling this FC170 (and several other FCs & FC parts) home. I still have one load to get, and can't wait to sort through all the parts.

Good find for sure! You should have plenty of parts now. Let me know if you plan to sell a complete parts vehicle. These things are cool!

Congrats!!

You need more project vehicles like you need a hole in the head. Then again, I'll go pick up the FC for ya if you donate the TJ LS parts to my build

AMEN! These won't all be projects. Some will be for parts, and a buddy is getting the green one.
