Default Need a 2000 TJ 4.0==Found 5.3 instead== delete

I bought a nice condition 2000 Wrangler with a hole in the block. This is a distributorless motor. Not sure what other years would work. I really want one with less then 100,000 on it.

If you decide you don't need the 100K mile or less engine let me know, I have one in Petoskey from a 98. Bolt the synchronizer from the 00 into the distributor of the 98. PM me for more info if you want.

Have you considered a 4.7l stroker, or possibly a 5.3l?

When I bought the jeep, My intentions where to put a 5.3 in it. But I've done a vortec swap before and know how much it costs. I don't have the cabbage to do that this winter. Figured I would just put a stock motor in it for now, and maybe do the 5.3 next year. I also need to get some wheels and tires, build bumpers and tire carrier. Want to have something to wheel in the spring.

So I didn't get a call back today... It was a running 2000 4.0l with about 160000miles on it. Because of the sludge, I figured it was the notorious 2000 head leaking coolant. I decided just to put a 5.3l in because of the price of 4.0l rebuilds.

Here's the CL listing

Still working on finding a motor. Alot more educated now! not looking for someones junk. Sandmaster suckered Me into buying one from him that was a 98, not the 2000 he told Me it was. It also had the bolt holes busted off the block where the motor mounts bolt up. I did get My money back from the asshole, but I had to drive 3 hours (one way) to go back to his house. I strongly urge people to not deal with this guy. His name is Randy Johnson, and he lives in lowell.
