Default Getting a truck camper into the garage with low door

Thought I would pass this along for anyone in my same situation.

I needed to get my truck camper in the garage for the winter. It's a small pop up but it has a AC unit and I haul it with a F350 dually. My garage doors are regular doors so leaving it on the truck and backing in is out of the question. It's too high.

This is what I did. I built a platform out of 2x6's and put 3/4 ply on the top. Attached 4 trailer tongue jacks on it. Then raised the trailer jacks up to meet the bottom of the camper and then used them to lower it down all the way down so it could be rolled into the garage.

Now most people with campers like this could have just used fixed casters on the platform but I couldn't because my truck is too tall and the camper jacks will not lift high enough to get off the truck without using blocking under the jacks.

Then I used the quad to pull it into the garage. Now i'll be able to tinker on it over the winter and fix it up since I got it on the super cheap. It'll be perfect for wheelin and fishin next year.

No more tenting it or sleeping in my damn truck.

That was the first thought. But the wife quickly put the k-bosh to that. Said I would have to sell some of my toys to pay for a taller garage door.
