Nothing, not many shots yet either.
One of my neighbors waited till opening day to cut firewood with his chainsaw though.

Gotta love that...neighbor to my south took a shot, and guy on the 40 acres immediately to the west of me got one as well. Haven't even seen anything here yet.

Pretty steady shots north of Lakeview.

I've seen 5 does and a four point

I hit the brakes for 6 of them this morning, hopefully they are huddled up behind the house when I get home so I can watch them eat dinner.

Im working at the country smoke house in almont, we had roughly 150 in today, a slow bow season makes a damn good firearm season!

Last year we had 103 opening day
Opening weekend we get the most. Last year we broke the record at just over 300 then the day after we hit 400. And that was an all day line

I am thinking (I'm drunk) that next year we should do a GL4x4 deer camp. I have had some of the best ground and lost it (family feud) some of the worst ground and have it up, no ground so we went up north and burned the borrowed cabin down, and this yer just no ground. We could have a fun time even if renting a cabin to drink beer and hunt state ground.

Seams like your idea of a good time isn't really a "good" time if your burning down buildings such

But I think a deer camp would be cool

Shoulder surgery Monday The 11th put deer season on hold this year, but I have a friend who bagged a huge 8pt in the western UP and also has one of the limited wolf tags for up there. So I will enjoy the hunting thru him.

Has he filled his wolf tag yet? I'm in Dickinson county, and I see at least one a week...my friend just caught one the other day by accident, trapping coyotes. Anyone on here coming to Dickenson to hunt?

My oldest is the only one who hunts in this family.. He got a 6 point and a 7 point with his bow, just shot a doe (like 30 minutes ago).. That makes 22 deer since he started hunting.. Not bad for a 19 year old.. :) I'm one proud mom!!!
