Default Converting Natural Gas Dryer to Propane

We are moving next week and are taking our new washer and dryer with us. I have been doing a little research on converting our dryer from natural gas to propane and it seems pretty easy with the conversion kit (which is just a new valve, for the most part?). So...has anyone ever done this themselves before? Just wondering if there is anything I should look out for when doing this? Any advice to offer (outside of "don't blow up the new house")?

Thanks!

It is usually just the gas orifice that you have to change. I did mine 10 years ago. I remember it was pretty simple. I think I went to Sears to get the right part. It should come with directions.

X3, also if your a "new" propane customer the propane company may do it for you. They did mine , no charge as I was " new"

I just converted mine last week. Changed the orifice and adjusted the regulator. Had to take the top and front panel off to do it. Not bad, but watch the metal edges inside, they can be sharp.

I've done it twice myself. First time I had to remove the drum to get to the orifice and trying to hold the drum up and get the belt in the right spot by yourself was a bitch. Newer dryer was much easier to get to and was only a 15 minute job.

Cool. This is what I was hoping to hear. "Simple" seems to be the mass concensus. Think I will go ahead and tackle this when our household effects arrive next week.

Thanks everyone!
