my premium is staying the same thru 2014. but I know my plan don't meet the aca guidelines. will I pay the fine? did they lie to me when they said I was good for the next year? The company I work for does not offer insurance and instead pays us $4000/year in an additional "benefit" above our earned pay. I pay $1350 a year for a PPO plan now.

People don't like obamacare and the numbers of people signing up for it tell us.

My premiums and company's and such stayed the same. My company did a mid-year open enrollment and required everyone to choose new plans that were aca compliant back in June. I chose not to get benefits for the rest of this year but I did sign up for our regular open enrollment last month, which are effective in January. The only thing I noticed was that there were more options for plans and the coverage was a bit expanded for the women's health stuff. Iirc, the premiums went up about $20 a month back in june

Just had our open enrollment meeting, I get insurance thru my wife so I opt out at my job. Last year I got a $2000 flex spending debit card for opting out, this year its only $1000 to offset the additional cost of the "affordable care act". My coworkers will not pay more in premiums but their copays are higher. So for all the people that I work with this obamacare will cost them MORE.

We have until March though so do these numbers really matter. We already know most do not like the change so until it is mandated then who cares?

I suppose the numbers don't matter but the more it is brought up the more people will not forget about what this is all about.
If the web site cannot handle the people trying to get coverage, what happens when it is mandated and then the fines start rolling out to millions who can't even access the site and get enrolled?
Kinda makes me think the government is in over its head on this one.

Total Fucking Idiots is what they are. Kinda funny when Obummer announced immigration reform to take the heat off ACA.

Our medical went up $60 a month with no change to dental/vision. My wife lost her company paid life and disability insurance.

I did not dig into the details of the plan to see if anything changed there, but on the surface it does not appear the deductibles, co-pays, or any of that changed.

Typical deal going around, paying more for less.

Medical premium went up 30%.

It used to be if you stayed within the employer health system you weren't paying anything. We had it pretty good I guess, this year it's co-pays and deductibles.

2 percent of base increase in cost, but more stupid mandated coverage (autism coverage (seriously), chiropractic, and some other cockameemee stuff) also next year, I will have a wellness assessment done by my physician and have to meet 3\5 criteria to get the full company contributions to my HSA...do more for less, ie middle class dying

Doesn't sound too bad to me but I know more for less sucks.

I need to get insurance period. But do I get it through a salesperson or from the site that does not work?

I know I need to start shopping.

Mine is staying the same for the next year. $9 a week with a $2500 deductible. The company puts the $2500 in a hsa account though. I really hope my insurance doesn't change in 2015....

Just wait until the employer mandate kicks in, safely after the demoshits mid term elections, and the economy is certain to be crushed.

Haven't read all the pages in this thread yet so this may already be answered. The first year, 2013, if you do not have insurance you will be fined, at tax time, $95 or 1% of your gross pay for the year, which ever is bigger. The 2nd year it goes up but I do not know how much. 3rd year up some more.
