How about:

"I feel responsible for my own actions and try to find my strength from within"?

I already had one of yours, but I'll add another!
I guess I'll put it into the intellectual category?

I have read some, but not all of these post. there is some good information out there. my mother grew up in a Catholic family, so the first few years I was brought up on the Catholic religion. when we moved out to the suburbs we switched to southern Babtist. I learned quite a bit, and became a saved Christian.

yes, there is alot of Hypocritical type churches in all faces of religion.

the way I steer my life, is that I have strong moral's, I'm kind to the less fortunate, some things just happen in life good/bad is not the point, what you learn from the instance is.

the key I'm trying to make is that you really can't fault a church for this or that. the fault lies to with whom is leading the church astray. read the bible for yourself, interpret watch you want, have the confidence to stick with your conviction and find other people with the same ideals.

The Apathetic Crowd:
Bottom line.. "I don't see any reason to go to church."
To my apathetic friends, I encourage you to visit a local church that is alive, a place that is doing something in the community, making a difference, teaching applicable messages from the scriptures, that has somthing going on in the evening, etc. If you see no value in church, perhaps its because you never participated in a place that is doing something that counts. Consider a re-try, that hour of your day may end up being a positive thing, but you won't know unless you go.

Cliff notes: try visiting a place that is alive, perhaps you will see value in it.

I can pretty much agree with this staement, realizing that the church is a group of imperfect people who WILL make mistakes. But that leads us to question if churches are doing good things in between that make parti ipation worthwhile. It would not take a genious to guess my opinion on this :) I very much believe in the institution of the church, it was what Jesus started before ascended into heaven. He started the church, and passed it off to his followers to build and maintain. There is much value in assembling as believers, in assembling to learn more about God, in assembling to bring doubts and questions to the table. Assembling to live out the gospel together, and so on. But we must get over each other's faults and really explore who God is and what he is calling us to do with our lives, and I don't think God designed us to live our lives in total seclusion, he gifted all differently that we might assemble together and be whole.

(Surely I could not make it through six pages without throwing my .02 in there!)

To my friends who have been turned off by the church (the largest group): my encouragement to you is to forgive those who have messed up royal. Even Paul, the apostle who wrote the majority of the new testament, confessed that he often did the things he didn't really want to do, and he did not do the things he truely wanted to do (the sin dilemma). Surely if a super saint is gonna remain a sinner, then I will as well, as will all other belivers. But what I desire is that you will not see the flaws of man and impute that to the nature of God. At times, we christians can be terrible representatives, and I ask for your forgiveness (to some of you on this board that I may even have upset!). But allow your views of God to be seen outside of mankind's sin. Allow imperfect people to be imprefect, and never give up on an exploration of who God is.

To my friends who find no truth, this is my encouragement to you: I can understand your position, it would be silly to believe a fairy tale. But I ask that you reconsider whether or not the biblical account holds water. The focal point of ALL the scriptures is ther story of Jesus. So if you or anyone else makes a judement call on the Christian faith, let it be on the eye-witness accounts of Jesus' life, and the historical accounts of his death. Apply logic and intellectual scrutiny on THAT. Perhaps a deeper study on the life of Christ will lead to truth.

To my outcast friends, this is my encouragement: don't let some snooty church groups put a barrier between you and the full experience of connection with both God and his true church. Look out there for a church that is not so uptight, there are plenty of places that say to come as you are, which is the place that God wants to meet you. If you find a place that will welcome you with a tattoo of a dragon across your face, then you probably found a sweet place. Keep looking!

thanks again for your feedback everyone, I hope ya'll didn't mind the final challenges. later
