Default Doomsday Bunkers

While from an engineering standpoint, this show is fascinating, it scares me that the people on it exist. (imagine Aber, only they can afford to build shelters that cost hundred of thousands of dollars). ;)

I'm watching it on netflix right now. I don't have cable and have never seen Doomsday preppers or any of those shows.

I thought it was an interesting show as well.

And I learned that there are 'hippy preppers', too.

I learned that from the Doomsday Preppers. They had one group that was anti-gun and thought that just sharing with those who come buy will keep them safe.

If I prepped I'd have enough "supplies" for a month.

Any more time then that calls for suicide.

wait another month and just buy a used PS3 on craigslist.

Not only can it stream Netflix. Doubles as a blue-ray player!

I've been using my Wii as a streaming player for Netflix and Hulu, but it's been sucking really bad lately, lots of errors and such. I was thinking about picking one up, since the Wii isn't working out as well. I figure it's just older tech that doesn't work as well. It would be nice to use with pandora and such, what are your favorite things about the Roku?

I noticed you said you found the new episodes of Eastbound and Down on Roku and were considering cancelling HBO. how so?

What do you use on your Roku to stream content? I have a Roku 2 and it is pretty good but we just use Netflix? Drives me crazy that Roku doesnt have a YouTube app either.

You could use Hulu, Amazon Prime, or install Plex on one of your computers if you have a lot of movies on it and then install the plex app on roku.

I have 65 kids movies that can be played on any tv in the house in a matter of seconds with no dvd scratching or losing to worry about. It's awesome.

We use plex a lot too for movies that we download and tv series. I have never used Amazon prime, I assumed that most of them you had to pay for so I never looked into it (I am a prime member, is it better than netflix?) and I dont want to use Hulu because I dont want another subscription service right now.

Anyone use Hulu? How fast do they update their shows after the air date? Would you consider eliminating cable for it?

It seems like most every device that has innerweb hookup has netflix interface. My TV, Bluray, and Tivo all have netflix, hulu, and a few other services. What makes roku better?

I think Netflix is better than ever. Their original stuff is pretty good too. Check out Orange is the New Black or House of Cards. I haven't finished House of Cards, but it's pretty good so far.
