1996 Ford Explorer 4.0L Manual Trans 4x4 *GONE*

Well it's a sad day, but it's a necessary step to my next project.

Someone very well could buy this and throw a torsion bar in it and have a very capable budget beater!!!! I have beat on this thing hard in 3 states and 2 countries and It has been a great wheeler.

FYI, my sister-in-law works for a junkyard and a replacement torsion bar is only $10

On to the details...

4.0L V-6 Runs good, but with a knock (lol) it's been that way for 5 years and still running strong - MAKE OFFER

5 speed Manual Trans - M5OD R1 4x4 - $100

BW1354 Manual T-case with shift linkage - $200

Ford 8.8 4.10 gears disc brakes - $200

Aussie Locker for 8.8 31 spline - $200

Front D35 IFS 4.10 gear (non disconnect) - $100

Front bumper/prerunner thingy - $200

Front Curt Reciever hitch - Fits rangers and Explorers - $100

Rear Trailer hitch - $30

2" Lift shackles, homemade 3/8" thick, 1" longer than the warrior shackles for a true 2" lift - $50

Tires

31x10.50-15 Radial RVTs with lots of tread, but I only have 3 - Make Offer
N78-15 SUPER THING - Best spare tire ever! - $20
31x10.50-15 spare tire MT but worn unevenly - $10

Four Aluminum american racing Gambler style wheels. One has holes a bit rounded out from tire falling off - $75 (scap value)

Most of the body panels are shot, but the hatch isn't too bad (one dent at the upper left corner)

This was an OEM manual trans vehicle, so pedals colum, dash, etc could be used to convert one to a manual trans.

Everything except the winch and radios is available for part out, just let
me know what you need!

The truck is available whole as well, I have yet to remove anything, but it would need a torsion bar to be drivable.

If you want pics of specific stuff, most of mine are action shots, let me know and I'll try to get them quickly.

I did just do the ball joints and tie rods, and had the front diff out to check for damage!

The

inside, aside from being dirty is in pretty good shape.

Currently propped up on a jack stand, but looks like this.

Thanks,
Brian

Any Idea how to remove them? If it involves removing the airbag, I'll pass.

PM sent awhile back.

Still mostly there, some small parts and pieces missing now but all the good stuff is still here.

I'll be getting more serious about removing parts soon, then scrapping the leftovers.

Sad to see the Exploder getting parted out, but it happens.

What's the new project?

Either another Explorer, or a Bronco.

I actually considered a Jeep, but they hold their value too well.

and contrary to what jeep guys will tell you, they start falling apart after they've been wheeled hard a few times (unibody fun, excluding the wrangler)

All the prices from my first post were pulled directly out of my butt, but were based of purchase price and difficulty to remove said items.

So, let's get some deals going. All parts are OBO.

The timeline for scrapping may be accelerated.

I've got someone interested in the rear axle, I'll probably pull it this weekend.

I'll have to have the Explorer loaded on my trailer to pull the rear axle, from there it will be a matter of days before it will be gone.

Parts I will pull before scrapping:

Transmission
Flywheel and clutch
Pedals, column, shifters, etc
Transfercase and shifter
Driveshafts
Front axle - Bolt in re-gear for Explorer/Ranger
130amp Alternator
Bumper
winch
Front and rear hitches
Wheels/tires

I'll keep these parts around for another rig, or to sell off

If you are interested in anything not listed, now is the time. All parts are best offer, and I'm willing to ship.

Mostly because of others who arrange times to pick parts up and don't show, not because I'm gettting rid of the Ex.
