Default cherokee help on motor

Is it easy to put a chevy small block into a xj? if so what would you need? or is it easier to rebuild a 4.0 with a little extra hp? kinda need some help on this. and it is only a mud/silver lake toy this isnt a road legal vehicle

lol what all does it entail to do? just kinda curious on this one i have only seen 1 cherokee with a small block in it

they are gettin upgraded this winter but i have a 305 thats is going in it since i blew up my 4.0 actually but not sure if i wanna stray away from fuel injection though. and its just my toy i been running alot of mud runs with it and things of that nature just want more to compete with the bigger trucks

Avoid carbs. (Besides making you fat) they suck ballz offroad.

I wouldn't see a 305 as big enough of a hp gain to go through the work
I mean your talking maybe 30 more horses

Rebuild 4.0 with plans to supercharge it or build a stroker, or buy the Cherokee I pass every day with a treefidy/th350/205 and 12bolts front and rear already in it. If ya want I can get pics and a ph#.
