You need to soak that in cherry kool-aid, it will heal much quicker.

Be sure to post pics of progress for the non-believers.

If you actually cut a tendon through, you need to go get it reattached via surgery, otherwise each end of the severed tendon will shrink away from each other and never heal. If you hit the tendon and partially cut it, it will eventually heal by itself.

My dad had a bone spur in his hand cut a tendon through. Had surgery and still hunted that year. Can't remember how close it was to season. He hunts with a long bow, not one of those pussy, 70% let off cam bows with sights, stabilizers and tampon aplicators.

Did you cut all the way through, or did you just nick it? I sliced mine maybe 1/2-3/4 through in roughly the same spot as you. They stitched it up and gave me a splint.

It's been a few years, but I think I just wore a finger splint for a few weeks while it healed. Seems like 4, but maybe 6. I was still able to do a lot of stuff, just not with my pointer finger.

It took another few weeks of therapy to get most of the range of motion back in my finger. I think I have maybe 90-95% back. I can curl my right hand into a fist as tightly as my left, but no other long term issues.

If you cut it all the way through, they may isolate your hand more.

Good luck.

Such a wuss.

Grab some Scotts towel, duct tape, and a piece of aluminum. Pour some alcohol on it then wrap your finger and leave it that way for a week before changing bandages. Within three weeks your tendon will be healed with only a small scar.

Tendons attach to the bone quickly if you don't move them. I did the above 4 times now and only my pinkie on my left hand is the only one with an issue. It has a little twitch if I try to use it independently. Not bad considering it took 4 weeks before I could move it at all though. Of course I went to the hospital who said surgery without any definite chance of it working again and left.

I suggest you learn how to shoot with the other hand.

Learn how to use your knife. If you cannot handle a pocket knife you probably shouldn't be using bows and arrows anyways.
