I know it sounds easy, and in my opinion it should be but no matter what is cut people will feel the pain.

-If the military is cut we know what happens
-If Welfare/WIC is cut people will have more pain
-DOJ/Homeland security is cut....well
-School systems.....
-Parks/Rec....
-FDA......
-USDA.....

It seems like the EPA/Nasa could be cut and have less implications but still many many jobs will be lost

The other option is to add more revenue....how do you do that when people can barely pay bills now, and growth is minimal?

I dont see an easy way out of this....I am glad Im not working in the goverment trying to iron out this mess.

I spent thirty years with the Feds and it is not what they spend that is the problem, it's what they waste.

Ask any Marine about what goes in the dumpster during FASMO.
Remember how crippling the sequester was suppose to be?

The one in the nineties, people were put on LWOP and after it was converted to admin leave so they got their full pay and the time off.

Fewer Government workers per population now than under any of the past 4 presidents.

This may be true, but if their is 800,000 non essential employees on the federal payroll im thinking there is plenty of fat to be trimming.

Apparently they counted state employees, not just Feds. So that is disingenuous at best.

This decline is largely a result of the financial crisis. With revenue in shorter supply, state governments which have a mandate to balance their budgets, cut staff.

-If the military is cut we know what happens We need far less of this if we quit fighting other country's wars
-If Welfare/WIC is cut people will have more pain Let people fend for themselves or starve in the streets
-DOJ/Homeland security is cut....well DHS has been a crock of shit since day one, gone
-School systems..... Kids keep getting dumber year after year, just quit throwing good money after bad
-Parks/Rec.... About the only thing I give two shits about maintaining
-FDA......Have the companies that control the FDA start funding the FDA instead of just lining the pockets of the officials in charge.
-USDA..... See FDA comment

It seems like the EPA/Nasa could be cut and have less implications but still many many jobs will be lost

In life when my expenditures have outpaced my income I have had to cut back. It sucks. It hurts sometimes. But it's necessary to keep finances in order. I see no reason why the government can't do the same. Adding more debt and more burden to those who actually float the system is not the answer.

Apparently, not much of importance is going to shut down.
