Default tw 200 build

ok honcho got me thinking about the old girl. so I start tomorrow on a restore and chop job to make a trail wale look cool.
ill check the year in the morning was thinking it was a early 90's but I believe its a 85 86. have not had it running in 5 years.
so before is the red bike. the second one is the look im going for and going to copy most parts. using a 1974 Yamaha ty250 gas tank, some old panels, chopping frame and a early headlight like whats on the second tw.i have a few sets of forks from old race bikes.bars, triple clamps, foot pegs im going to put on.even have some old slip on silencers off race bikes. think the seat is going to be the hardest to find a fit. what ya think honcho? I dig the second bike and it would be fun to keep in my semi for a pit bike.

I know this bike is lame but I have had it forever.(bought it for a girlfriend years ago) so I might as well do something with it.

I'd take it the way it was and do something with it- ride it and enjoy it.

looks cool. I think the best improvement to a TW would be sticking a bigger engine in it. I think an XT225 engine is doable, plus it has a 6 speed. Maybe XT350? ;)

I bought a T-dub for my wife this past winter. She's ridden it with me a handful of times , a few times to work, and once down to Sanford (longest trip). I use it occasionally as a part runner.

this bike has been rode plenty. it use to come with me to the mx tracks and a spare bike for single track rides.the gas tank has a hole in it,bars are trashed and the spokes were toast.time for a makeover. so I can ride it again.

I'm not doing a thing to the motor.it runs just fine for screwing around.this is just something to run around on and keep in the semi for a spare..

I love the look of the chopped bike. I dont have to tell you but suspension is going to be your limiting factor. Upgraded front end, upgraded shock, could make for a nice trail bike. I'm not sure how the fat tire will handle, but at the very least it would look badass!! I would want a rear fender though, not only to protect you from mud and trail BS, but in the chance you send the ass in the air I wouldn't want to hit that tire. I'm in 100% for this project!!

Going to put forks and rear shock off one of my old race bikes.only issue is if I can fit the triple clamps on.think I just will need another bearing.we use to lower our MX bikes for ice racing.just put a spacer in the forks and shock so it will still sit lower.we also use to fan up fenders just over the tire so going to do that on the front and back..it already looks way cool.frame painted and cut down.will have pro taper bars and levers with hand guards.I have a bunch of this stuff still from when I was racing. Don't plan on major trail rides w it just screwing around.

Any local machine shop should be able to machine the stem down to the right size for you. Back when I was racing pit bikes, There was a shop out in cali that did a set of cr85 triples. If you need any leads to someone willing to work on bike stuff let me know.

Cool stuff. I think it would look good with a stubby rear fender, something chopped down to a few inches or dirt tracker style.

Something like:
