Default 2015 Chevy/GMC HD Pickups Revealed

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/09/26/2...ucks-unveiled/

Not much to say that hasn't been said....

I like the GMC in both HD and half ton guise, but not fond of the Chevy's looks. The ridiculously huge chrome lower bumper on the Chevy is hideous.

I like the trucks better than the SUV's. I still think that the SUV's you posted do not look as good as the 07-13 models.

Wheels are round, not square. Which part about this confuses gm?

X2 on what upthatguy said.

I don't understand people bitching about the wheel wells. You're not the only one that I've heard this from. There are many vehicles that use trapezoidal or square wheel openings. Hell, up until the 90's almost all truck wheel openings were square.

I don't think they look bad.

"The standard engine is a Vortec 6.0-liter V8 that produces 360 horsepower in the 2500HD and 322 hp in the 3500HD to go along with 380 pound-feet of torque in all applications."

Why would the 6.0 2500hd have more horsepower then the 6.0 3500hd?

From what I have been told by some trainers through the years it has something to do with a "pass by" DB level. They detune the motors in the bigger trucks to meet the sound levels they need to meet in the category. I have never understood it but that is what I have been told.

I think everyone loves new cars when they are shown, and everyone hates new trucks.

When the '99 superduty came out, people hated them. When they changed the front grill in 05, people hated it. When they changed again in 08, people hated it again. People hated the dually fenders on the current superduty. Then after 6 months seeing them on the roads, it grows on people and everyone loves the new designs. Same goes for the F150. Everyone hated the front grill/headlights in '10 or whenever that was, now the 05 versions look old and outdated in comparison

Its honestly been that way for decades, a lot of the heavier applications are rated less than the 1/2 tons. Ignition timing vs vehicle load, etc...

I like that they went back to the split headlight design, but otherwise not a huge fan.

Exactly, I just learned the same thing with the Ram series trucks. They had to do the exact same thing.

Very true.

My half-assed theory behind this is that trucks only go through major exterior changes every 5-7 years. I think we get so used to seeing *insert brand here* look a certain way, once it changes our brains don't know what to do.

They are fine if you want to run grandpa tires. Hell if you want to run anything bigger you need six inches of lift and cut the fenders behing the front tires.

My brother inlaw works down at the Gm truck plant and I always ask it the designers still wear plaid shirts and beanie caps golfing?

I'm sure GM will make that change in the future to pander to the 2% of the market that requires that.

I bet the market is much bigger or would be if you could fit bigger than 14" tires ?
