Default Heading to Toronto

Have not been to Toronto since 1988 and am planning a four day get-away with the wife for her 40th birthday the middle of next month.

Who has been there recently? Any recommendations on lodging and attractions would be greatly appreciated. Also, any areas to avoid would be helpful too!

THANKS!
!

We did the same thing for Kerry's b-day. We stayed at the Eaton Chelsea, had dinner at the CN tower, went on a haunted tour of the city, went to the zoo, stopped at the african lion safari on the way, and just spent the rest of our two days there wandering around the city.

The Ripley aquarium at the base of the CN tower may be open now too. I want to do that when we go back again, as well as see the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Avoid North York, specifically the Jane st/401 area. Lot of crime, if there's a shooting it's in that area. I tell you to avoid the gay district, but then you would have to cancel going to Toronto.

Do go to the science center, plan at least half a day, and also see Casa Loma.

Exhibition center, skydome tour (might only be avail to school groups). Make the trip to Niagara, your only an hour away.

Eaton center for shopping.

I was there a year ago for a 3 day bachelor party. We stayed at the Hilton it was nice. I don't remember much but I know we drank and saw boobs and went to a sweet horse track.

Wife may like Casa Loma, Lion Safari is cool, x3 for the museum. Toronto is a Metropolis, you can find pretty much anything there.

Take some time on a nice day and walk down Queen st. Stop at as many little patio bars as you want and try some beer on tap. Don't forget to people watch while you are doing it... It's usually quite entertaining...
