Default What torque convertor for a 47 re behind a cummins?

Starting to get a list for my truck swap. I have a 96 V10 4x4 and a 98 2wd cummins. The 4x4 trans will bolt right up to the cummins, but will require a different torque converter due to the stall speed differences. Both trucks have the 47re trans (at least I hope the 96 is, but from what I have read it should be). Truck tows often, usually lighter loads (~5000#), but still need a tc that can handle heavier just in case. Trans was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago.

I think you need different governor springs too? Maybe that is just the rh.

"Stock" to mild build, it's said a good single disc.

Higher side of mild to wild a triple disc.

I'd call goerend. And browse cumminsforum.com

I would buy a billet cover triple disc tat way you only buy a tc once

Save your pennies and do it once get a valve from HTS or Garmon or a place that does diesel transmissions and get a triple disk suncoast, ATS or georand. I've been running an ATS for 8 years at over 600 hp and transmission has never been out

There is a piece in towards the tail of the trans that controls the shift point at different rpm' s the v10 runs higher rpm shift points than the 12v. They are interchangeable. I think one has a brass weight and the other is steel.

call engineered diesel they can set u up. I would just do a single disk billet if its under 450hp and u don't want to buy a billet input also. triple disk needs a billet input fyi
