I didn't mean to sound like I didn't need to ask, just wanted to know why. I have the new style that did not leak thankfully, although I am pretty sure the TC is shot still.

I got my Jeep to work in 2HI, 4Hi and 4Low...however it still sounds like a roller coaster (the noise of going to up the first hill, best way to describe it) I cannot hear it in reverse though.

Just for kicks, put the tcase in neutral and crawl underneath it and turn the output shaft by hand. It should turn smoothly with no noise or notchiness. Also pay close attention if the shaft is straight. If the driveshaft was bent, there is a chance the main shaft is bent too. It takes surprising little force to bend them. Ive seen it a couple of times and none of them were from hitting anything offroad.

Either way, if your tcase is jacked up the easy solution may just be to find a replacement and swap them. 231s can be picked up cheap and they can be swapped in about an hour taking your time.

thanks. I will try that tomorrow morning after work. I have als been already looking for a replacement tcase. thanks again
