Default Let's see your DD

So I see few threads talking about focus's and such. I am thinking about giving up my zj. I really haven't wheeled it and with work, school, family (coach sons soccer teams), quads, snowboards, sleds and family property in the UP no time to mod it or wheel it.

Anyway. Arguing with what to do. Looking for something fun. Descent on gas. I have a 50 mile a day commute to work school soccer and home.

My jeep gets 14 avg right now. I had a gtp that averaged closer to 20. Thinking of something like that.

Anyway. What you got? And do you have a winter beater that comes out in the snow?

2001 Neon. 5 spd, 2.0 just bought it a few months ago. Has been a great car so far. Getting around 30-32mpg mostly highway. The stick makes it slightly fun. Beats driving my Dually on my 70 mile daily trip.Click image for larger version

Yep from about $100 a week to $35. Its a Chrysler test car so it has all the r/t suspension and brakes. So it handles awesome with the big sway bars and 4 wheel discs. I bought off of a Chrysler engineer that bought it after they used it for testing. $2100 150k. Little rust on it but idgaf.

My DD:

Gets, I dunno, 400 miles to a tank, costs me nothing.

Oh, you meant the vehicle I own.... That's just the one I drive every day.

As much as I prefer to drive trucks, I drive ~100 miles a day so fuel was killing me. Current DD is a 2002 Impreza 2.5RS. 5 spd and torquey for a 4 banger so it's pretty fun while still saving me a bunch of money. I opted for the non-turbo model because I get 29mpg, rather than the 18-20 I'd be getting with a turbo.

When working my average commute is 130 miles so I use the Malibu to go back and forth. Since I only worked 4 weeks over the summer the truck saw a lot more DD duties.

I drive my ZJ mostly every day. Shes getting a bit weak tho in the engine power department so im sure its not far from a rebuild. Just picked up a 94 chevy 1500 beater truck I will probley end up driving this winter while I tear apart the jeep.

88 3/4 ton grey whale. 350 tbi, th400 and a junk 208. Just rolled 200,000 miles almost completely rust free from Cali. One little rust bubble on tailgate. 12mpg, thankfully I live and work at the same place. Mostly hauls racecars, campers and kids.
